MISHAWAKA, Ind. - Halloween wasn't all cold and snow.
Community members took to trick-or-treating indoors to the University Park Mall for the first Malloween since the pandemic began.
"We're excited to have all the kids and families back and for two hours, several of our stores, probably the majority of them are handing out candy, coupons, trinkets, all sorts of stuff for the kids just to celebrate Halloween," said Christian Carlson, the event's organizer.
Nearly 50 stores took part in the holiday, handing out candy to trick-or-treaters.
Visitors lined up as early as 4:30 p.m., to get a warmer sugar rush via a shorter walk from store to store.
