ELKHART, Ind. -- The region’s largest environmental festival, EnviroFest, kicked off Friday evening right off the St. Joseph River at Island Park in Elkhart.
Put on by the Elkhart Environmental Center for the 28th year, the event includes environmental and sustainable focused booths, educational activities, live animals, a silent auction, and more.
“We’re just really lucky that our community just already has that interest and we’re just kind of fostering that, so we have people who have interests in gardening or sustainability and we’re happy to provide that information and resource… or connect them with our community partners because we have so many that specialize all across the board… We’re just kind of connecting people and facilitating that passion that people already have,” said the Environmental Projects Coordinator for the Elkhart Environmental Center, Annie Klehfoth.
