Learn tips and tricks for animal tracking at River Preserve County Park
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Elkhart County Parks announced they will host an Animal Tracking program on Saturday, Dec. 21 at the River Preserve County Park from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
The program costs $10 per person, and participants will meet at the Benton Spillway parking lot at 10 a.m. The program is geared for ages 10 and up.
The Benton Spillway is just south of Benton Elementary School on C.R. 31.
Community members are invited to explore the winter landscape with a naturalist and learn animal tracking skills together.
Organizers say you'll discover clues that animals leave behind like footprints, scat, and more. Through these clues you'll get a better understanding of what they can tell us.
Participants will also receive a copy of the “Animal Tracks of Indiana” book by Tamara Eder.
You can learn more about the program and register here. You must register by Dec. 20.
