HAMMOND, Ind. - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a two vessel collision which occurred on Lake Michigan Friday evening.
According to the DNR, two vessels collided on Lake Michigan northwest of Hammond Marina on July 19 around 8:15 p.m.
Emergency crews responded to the boat collision where one operator was thrown from the vessel into the water.
The operator was located and transported to the University of Chicago and is listed in critical condition.
Information regarding the vessel and the names of operators are being withheld pending family notification.
U.S. Coast Guard, Lake County Marine Unit and Hammond fire and police departments assisted at the scene.
