La Porte County man arrested on felony child molestation charges

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Porte County Sheriff's Office reports a detective was assigned March 3 to investigate a matter of child abuse/neglect that was reported to the Indiana Department of Child Services.
The report states the detective gathered information over the following days which included allegations of sexual abuse occurring at several different locations throughout La Porte County.
Authorities say 31-year-old Jeremiah G. Manley, of La Porte County, was identified as the suspect.
On March 12, the detective presented a probable cause affidavit to the La Porte County Prosecutor's Office which included initial investigation findings.
Probable cause was later found in La Porte County Circuit Court, and an arrest warrant was issued for Manley.
On March 21, Manley was found and taken into custody at the Love's Travel Stop on North Love’s Avenue in Michigan City.
He was then taken to the La Porte County Jail where he remains and is held on a $100,000 cash-only bond through Circuit Court.
Manley is charged with Child Molestation, a Level 1 Felony, Child Molestation, a Level 4 Felony, Child Exploitation, a Level 4 Felony, and Dissemination of Matter Harmful to Minors, a Level 6 Felony.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
