Kitten rescued after house fire

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Firefighters in Indianapolis rescued a kitten that was stuck in a well after hearing cries for help early Saturday morning, following a fire.

Firefighters responded to a fire at a vacant house around 3 a.m. but were able to gain control of the fire quickly.

No one was injured.

After the flames were out firefighters heard a cat’s meow coming from the back of the house and began looking around.

They found a kitten about six feet down in the bottom of a well covered in mud and muck.

Firefighters used a hook and lasso to rescue the kitten and bring it to safety.

The kitten was taken to a veterinarian Saturday morning and named Ember.
