NILES, Mich. -- Kataleya Steward is a 4-year-old from Niles looking for a blood donor as she battles Fanconi Anemia and Myelodysplastic Syndrome.
To help the search her family along with the largest blood stem cell donor center DKMS held a gathering to get more people checked to see if they are a match, as finding a matching donor can be little as just 29 percent for Black Americans.
