UPDATE: Jean Klock Park and Beach open after water tests safe
ABC 57 UPDATE: The Berrien County Health Department reports the swim advisory for Jean Klock Park and Beach has been lifted as of Thursday afternoon following water test results showing safe swimming conditions.
ORIGINAL STORY: BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Jean Klock Park and Beach is currently closed to the public due to high E. coli bacteria levels, according to the Berrien County Health Department.
The announcement came Wednesday afternoon via a social media post by Benton Harbor Mayor Pro Tem Shaquille Turner.
Closure signs will be posted at the beach with precautions in place to protect the health and safety of visitors.
City officials ask that no one enter the water while this swimming closure is in effect.
