Inmate dies at La Porte County Jail

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. - La Porte County EMS responded to the La Porte County Jail for an inmate having an unknown medical episode.
It happened Saturday around midnight.
The inmate, who was conscious at the time, was transported to the hospital where they subsequently died.
Autopsy and toxicology test results are pending.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing and no further information is available currently.
