INDOT to host open house for improvement program in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Transportation announced it will host an open house on April 2 at 3:30 p.m. in South Bend for the public to learn more about the 2026-2030 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.

INDOT officials say members of the public will have the opportunity to provide comments on the draft program.

Indiana's five-year planning and construction document STIP lists all transportation projects expected to be funded using federal funding in addition to regionally significant state funded projects.

The 2024-2028 STIP and the 2026-2030 STIP are also available on INDOT's STIP website.

The open house will take place at the St. Joseph County Public Library Community Learning Center located at 305 S. Michigan St. in South Bend.

The open house is from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

If you can't make it to this in-person open house, the public comment period for the draft 2026-2030 STIP is open from April 1 to May 15, 2025.

Comments may be submitted via the STIP Map Survey, INDOT4U online or at 855-463-6848, or by mail to:
