Indiana will now offer COVID-19 vaccine boosters following FDA and CDC authorization

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Health announced on Friday it will now offer COVID-19 vaccine boosters to Hoosiers aged 18 and older.

Hoosiers aged 18 or older can now receive a booster dose of the Pfizer and Modena vaccine as long as they have received their second dose at least six months ago.

On Friday, the CDC approved the administration of a booster dose of both vaccines for people 18 and older.

This approval was made following the FDA’s decision to expand its Emergency Use Authorization for boosters.

Prior to this decision, the FDA had only approved a third dose for individuals that met a certain criteria.

Hoosiers aged 18 and older who want to obtain a booster dose should go to www.ourshot.in.gov or call 211 for assistance finding a location.
