Heat and storm chances increasing this weekend
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, IN -- The Indiana Toll Road reopened after 8:30 p.m. following a suicidal call that prompted a large police presence near the Ironwood bridge Wednesday night.
At approximately 6:20 p.m., the St. Joseph County Police Department responded to the area for an armed and possible suicidal man, according to the report.
County police said the man threatened self-harm and began running away from officials with a handgun and a box cutter.
Once police arrived, the man took off and hid in the area surrounding the Toll Road.
County police reported that the man was detained via stun gun once he was located using a drone.
Officials added the man was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
