Indiana State Republicans invites students to gain experience in state government
Indiana students, grades 6-12, can gain an interactive educational experience to learn about state government.
Indiana State Republicans is now accepting applications for their Page Program for Indiana State Senate and House of Representatives.
Students can sign up for 7 hours sessions, beginning in January through February, to hear legislative session, debates on policy and assist senators with age-appropriate tasks.
Senate pages will also receive a tour of Indiana's Historical Statehouse's including House and Senate chambers, Supreme Court and an Executive Office.
Students will be given an excused absence from school for serving as a page.
Sen. Linda Rogers (R-Granger) is excited the program teaches students more about state government and about the transition from bill to law.
"The Senate Page Program helps young Hoosiers learn how their participation could become a future job," she said in a press release. "I encourage those eligible in Senate District 11 to apply to this program."
Pages are scheduled on Mondays, Tuesday, and Thursdays, with large groups on Wednesdays beginning their day at 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Students interested in joining can submit an application on Indiana State Republicans' website.
