Indiana State Police have identified the child who was found deceased in a suitcase in southern Indiana this past April.

Police identified the boy in the suitcase as Cairo Ammar Jordan. Jordan was from Atlanta and was five years old at the time of his death.

He would have been six years old on October 24.

Police also identified two suspects in the case.

On October 14, arrest warrants were issued for two women, 40-year-old Dawn Elaine Coleman of Shreveport, Louisiana, and 37-year-old Dejauane Ludie Anderson, of Atlanta, for neglect of a dependent resulting in death and obstruction of justice. Anderson is Jordan's mother.

Coleman was arrested in California on October 19.

Anderson still has not been located. She is described as a black female, 5'5", 135 pounds.

On Tuesday, the circuit court issued an arrest warrant for Anderson for murder.

On April 16, 2022, Jordan was found deceased in a suitcase on Holder Road in southeast Washington County.

Holder Road is a dead-end street in an isolated area of the county.

At the time the boy was discovered, no family members, witnesses, or acquaintances came forward to identify him.

Following an autopsy, the child was determined to have died from an electrolyte imbalance that caused viral gastroenteritis.
