Indiana nearing undefeated season in National Championship game

MIAMI, Fla. -- "You don’t go to war with warm milk and cookies," said Indiana Head Coach Curt Cignetti ahead of the biggest game in his career.

Cignetti addressed the media one final time before his team plays for a National Championship, expanding on the final touches he wants to see from the Hoosiers before they suit up Monday night, "I think it’s time to sharpen the saw now, throw those warm fuzzies out the door, that sentimentalism. It’s time to go play a game against a great opponent. We’ve got to have a sharp edge going into this game."

Cignetti said the veteran leadership on his roster has helped them navigate uncharted waters, especially his Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza.

"This group has tried to apply the message," Cignetti added, "I think this team has some special qualities and their ability to go on the road and win close games. Quarterback playing his best with the game on the line when everything appeared to be down and out. But you know, there's one more chapter to write."

Indiana will face Miami, at the Hurricanes' home field, on Monday night at 7:30 p.m.
