Berrien County road getting summer-long improvement project

Berrien County Road Department

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Warren Woods Road between the I-94 overpass bridge and Three Oaks Road in Chikaming Township is set to close on April 14 for a project that is expected to last until November.

According to the Berrien County Road Department, the section of Warren Woods Road will be closed to thru traffic starting Monday. Local traffic will be permitted but will be subject to a hard road closure when and where specific culverts are being replaced.

"A contractor will be doing work to facilitate road improvements to Warren Woods Road including drainage improvements, roadway widening (including 4’ paved shoulders), and roadway resurfacing," the BCRD said.

Due to ongoing construction on Red Arrow Highway, the detour route for the project will be Warren Woods Road to Lakeside Road to Elm Valley Road to Three Oaks Road.
