I-94 lane closures start May 5 for Hennessey Road bridge repairs

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Michigan Department of Transportation announced work is set to begin on May 5 to repair the Hennessey Road bridge over I-94.
MDOT says this project is part of a $31.7 million investment to repave I-94 between Coloma and Watervliet.
The work will also include a utility permit issued to American Electric Power that will require nighttime intermittent closures of I-94 at Park Road.
Two lanes of I-94 will be open in each direction, but there will be some nighttime work with only one lane open in each direction.
Other restrictions include Hennessey Road having intermittent single-lane closures, with traffic maintained via traffic regulators and a temporary signal.
Intermittent closures for the utility work on I-94 at Park Road will be between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. May 5-9.
MDOT says the Hennessey Road bridge work is expected to last until Aug. 29.
