Drought might be over before it began for Michiana
This evening will be storm free with temperatures falling into the 70s across Michiana. The first of potentially two rounds of strong thunderstorms arrives by the morning commute Tuesday. A line of thunderstorms will move in from north to south, and could bring gusty winds, small hail and heavy rain to Michiana from about 6 AM through 11 AM. Highs will make it to near 90 degrees Tuesday.
We should get a break by lunchtime before another round of storms is possible from 6 PM on. Confidence is much lower in this second round, as it will depend on how strong morning thunderstorms end up. IF anything forms Tuesday afternoon or evening, storms could be severe (again) with more damaging winds and heavy rain.
Any showers will wrap up Wednesday morning, setting up quiet and cooler weather for Wednesday and Thursday with highs near 80. Another round of showers and thunderstorms will move in by Friday afternoon and possibly Saturday. The pattern looks active to end June and begin July, with storm chances every 3 days or so going forward.
Tonight: Dry this evening, then storms possible after 4 AM. Low 68.
Tuesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially in the morning. High 90.
Wednesday: Showers end in the morning, then partly cloudy. High 81.
Thursday: Mostly sunny and pleasant. High 78.
