A day of hot and breezy weather awaits our area with temperatures expected to peak close to 90 degrees in South Bend. Wind gusts will reach up to 30 mph by this afternoon, potentially bringing in a smokier-smelling midday ahead. There is a slight chance of an afternoon/evening rain shower today, although the best rain chances hold off until tomorrow. After lows fall to the upper 60s tonight, a broken line of scattered showers and thunderstorms is expected starting late Wednesday morning and lasting until tomorrow night. While there is a non-zero chance of severe weather tomorrow, the more likely scenario right now is a few strong storms embedded in weaker bands of showers. Thursday is quiet and sunny with milder temperatures in the mid 70s.
Today: Mostly sunny. High 88.
Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low 68.
