NORTH JUDSON, Ind. – The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum, in conjunction with North Judson’s Mint Festival, will be hosting excursion trains on Father’s Day weekend.

On Saturday, June 19 and Sunday, June 20, families can enjoy train rides on open-air sightseeing or vintage cars. The excursion is round-trip from the Museum depot and travels five miles through the countryside, crossing over the Kankakee River at English Lake, before returning to North Judson.

The trains depart at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. central time, and each trip lasts about 45 minutes.

Tickets are $12 for adults ages 16 and over, $10 for children ages six to 15, and $6 for children ages one to five.

Groups of six or more will get $2 off each ticket.

Click here to purchase tickets or call 574-896-3950 on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. central time. Online purchasing is recommended as seating is limited.

Guests looking for an extra special gift for their dad can also purchase a Guest Engineer experience, in which anyone over age 18 who has a valid driver’s license can operate a diesel locomotive with supervision for 30 minutes to an hour.

Email ridership@hoosiervalley.org to schedule.

Be sure to visit the museum and grounds where admission is always free. Visit the Museum’s website and Facebook page for more information.
