The Elkhart Fire Department was unable to begin the task of sifting through the building until heavy equipment arrived.
Crews began the process of cleaning the fallen roof off the debris to allow investigators to determine the origin of the fire.
Although the cause of the fire is still undetermined, the investigation is being treated as though it was arson, per protocol.
