From just above average today to the 80s later this week
Thunderstorms continue across our area early this morning but will move out around 7-8 AM just before the morning commute. Hot and humid conditions will characterize today with highs in the low 90s and heat indices ranging from ~95F-100F this afternoon and evening. With steamy dewpoints and partial sunshine, building instability will accumulate into later tonight as we expect a line of strong to possibly severe thunderstorms to move in around 11PM from the northwest. Storms will weaken overnight as they move east but no threats are off the table. The main concerns right now are straight-line winds with gusts anywhere from 40-50 mph and also heavy rain, adding even more water to rivers and low-lying areas that are already inundated. Scattered thunderstorms linger into Tuesday morning but weaken into showers through Tuesday night with a cooldown taking over Michiana. Expect much drier and less humid conditions Wednesday and Thursday.
Today: Mostly cloudy. High 91.
Tonight: Thunderstorms, some possibly severe. Low 72.
Tuesday: Scattered thunderstorms. High 83.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy. High 80.
