GOSHEN, Ind.-Governor Eric Holcomb will be joined by state and local officials in Goshen today to announce INDOT’s construction plans for Indiana’s roads for the next 5 fiscal years.
The governor is set to unveil the “Next Level Roads Plan”, a $4.7 billion road plan.
INDOT says the plan reflects new funding that was made available by the long-term infrastructure plan approved in April by the state’s General Assembly.
The event is part of a series of news conferences Holcomb will hold across the state.
INDOT Commissioner Joe McGuinness, State Representative Ed Soliday and other state and local officials will join the Governor.
Over the course of the 5 years across the Hoosier state, 122 lane miles will be added, 9,628 lane miles will be resurfaced and 1,295 bridges will be replaced or rehabilitated.
$45 million of the total investment will go towards Elkhart County. $12.6 million dollars alone will be invested in the county in 2018.
2018 projects will focus on U.S. 20, including several ramps and bridges, S.R. 119, S.R. 19 and U.S. 33.
The news conference is set to take place at the U.S. 33 re-alignment site in Goshen, near 10th street at 1:30 P.M.
