National Weather Service cutting back on weather balloon launches
Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb held a press conference Wednesday morning to provide an update on the state's response to the winter storm that is expected to bring more than a foot of snow to parts of the state.
"This was a pattern from New Mexico to Maine and we're right smack almost in the middle of it. So, we need to be as precautious as every state in its path and we are. So, I would just recommend make the safe call. It doesn't mean shut down right now if the weather conditions allow you to remain open, but put the safety of your employees and your customers first," said Holcomb.
The Indiana National Guard has 240 troops activated to help rescue any drivers and passengers that get stranded on highways and interstates due to snowy road conditions.
