Goshen man sentenced seven years in prison for firearm offense

Koby Eldridge

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana announced 31-year-old Koby Eldridge, of Goshen, was sentenced after pleading guilty to possessing a firearm after being adjudicated mentally defective.

Eldridge has been sentenced to seven years in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

Documents in the case state in May 2023, Eldridge was found in possession of five loaded firearms recovered from his car.

On that same date, documents say more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition and another loaded firearm were recovered from his residence.

Court documents state Eldridge had previously been deemed incompetent to stand trial in Elkhart Superior Court in February 2021.

Documents states Eldridge had then been committed to a mental institution, preventing him from possessing these firearms.
