GOSHEN, Ind. - A pedestrian died in a crash at Bethany Christian Schools on Monday morning, according to the Goshen Police Department.
At 8:19 a.m., police were called to the school in the 2900 block of S. Main Street for a crash involving a pedestrian and vehicle.
Officers at the scene discovered several medically trained bystanders assisting a pedestrian with a head injury, reports said.
The pedestrian, identified as 65-year-old Peter Shetler of Goshen, was flown to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved is cooperating with the investigation.
Bethany Christian Schools, where Shetler was the technology director, released the following statement:
The Bethany Christian Schools community grieves the loss of a beloved faculty member, Peter Shetler, the school’s technology director. He died from injuries after being struck by a car this morning. Your prayers are welcome.
