Goshen Community Schools remain open with increased police presence and security Wednesday following threat

ABC 57

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Goshen Community Schools Superintendent Jim DuBois released a statement via Facebook in response to recent online threats made to the schools, in which he states they will remain open with increased security measures and police presence.

Wednesday morning, the Goshen Police Department notified school officials of a threat targeting Goshen High School.

An investigation is ongoing, and school officials say they are working closely with law enforcement.

DuBois says in part, " We understand that parents know what's best for their children, and their comfort and peace of mind are of utmost importance. If you think keeping your child at home today is best for him until we gather more information about the threat, we understand and support his decision. Absences related to this situation will be justified and you can communicate your decision to your child’s school office."

School officials say if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact your child's school or our central office.
