Game day traffic should not be hindered by road construction on 933

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The home opener is just a few days away and game day traffic can always be a bit of a problem.

Construction along S.R. 933 had been a concern.

The Michigan Street Bridge recently opened back up. But INDOT is still making repairs and weight restrictions are in place.

But police say that most vehicles are under the weight restrictions.

"A lot of the recreational vehicles are under the weight restriction. Most of the game day traffic will be under the weight restriction. There will be a few things that will be affected, but by and large we don't' expect any disruptions in traffic, anymore than usual," South Bend Police Capt. Phil Trent said.
