Free overdose training

NILES, MI -- Free life-saving Naloxone (Narcan) training will be offered for residents today from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Southwest Michigan Families Against Narcotics chapter and the Voice Change Hope Alliance is sponsoring this free prescription opioid and heroin overdose prevention education. 

Those who attend and complete the training will receive a free naloxone kit. Naloxone is the antidote for an opiate overdose that can help reverse the effects of an overdose.

When administered correctly, the nasal spray Narcan, restores breathing that has been dangerously slowed by an overdose of heroin or prescription painkillers.
