ELKAHART, Ind. -- The First Presbyterian Church in Elkhart is continuing their tradition of “Ashes to Go” to anyone in the community this Ash Wednesday.

The period of Lent is a Christian observance leading up to Good Friday and Easter Sunday, beginning with Ash Wednesday, which falls on March 5.

The “Ashes to Go” event is taking place on Mar. 5, from 8 to 10 a.m. and again from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church tower portico. The church is located at 200 E. Beardsley Ave in Elkhart. Participants can remain in their cars while receiving the cross in ashes.
