ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- On Wednesday, just before 5:30 p.m., St. Joseph County Police were called to a two-vehicle head-on collision in the 68000 block of Miami Highway.

Due to the severity of the crash, the St. Joseph County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team (FACT) was activated. 

The initial investigation indicates a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling northbound on Miami when it came up to a curve. As it did, the car crossed the center line, hitting a Ford F150 that was traveling southbound head-on.

The driver of the F150 was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Unfortunately, the driver of the Jetta was pronounced dead at the scene. That individual has been identified as Lori Wright, 63, from Lakeville.  

The crash remains under investigation.
