Finances gathered to improve wastewater projects in Elkhart

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The City of Elkhart closed on a low-interest loan for over $32 million in funds that will finance improvements for the city’s wastewater treatment systems.

Elkhart was able to acquire these funds, to the amount of $32,196,000, through the Indiana Finance Authority’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund Loan Program.

This program receives joint funding from the US Environmental Protection Agency and the State of Indiana.

These finances will allow the City of Elkhart to increase the primary treatment processing of wastewater, treat additional wet weather flow, and protect water quality and public health for businesses and residents.
