Fighting Irish defeat Louisville in week 5

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame wins their fourth game of the season against Louisville this Saturday with a final score of 31-24.

Louisville scored the first touchdown of the game within the first quarter; however, the Irish responded to Louisville's play, with scoring a total of three touchdowns by the end of the first quarter.

Jeremiyah Love rushed into the endzone setting the score 7-7. Around two game minutes later, Riley Leonard completed a pass to Jaden Greathouse for a 34-yard touchdown, scoring 14-7 for Notre Dame. And nearing the end of the first quarter, Leonard rushed 4-yards into the endzone, scoring again for Notre Dame, putting the score at 21-7 at the end of the first quarter.

Mitch Jeter scored an extra point field goal following every touchdown scored in the game. Jeter also secured a 48-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter of the game, putting Notre Dame 24-14 heading into the third quarter.

Louisville scored twice in the fourth quarter, but Notre Dame pulled ahead with Leonard completing another pass, this time to Jeremiyah Love for a 32-yard passing touchdown. Notre Dame finished the game 31-24 Louisville.
