DOWAGIAC, Mich. - The 14th annual C. Wimberly's Feed the Hungry campaign is aiming to raise $50,000 for food pantries.
Volunteer set out Wednesday morning to Cass County businesses to invite to donate, determined to take their program to the next level.
Jeff Neumann, Vice President, ACTION Ministries, who have an open food pantry every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to noon, says they're able to reach their goals through Feeding America.
"Instead of 500, 600, 700 or 1000 pounds of food once, we do 6000 pounds of food 20 times, so it's over 100,000 pounds for the same money," he said.
For anyone wanting to donate, you can visit any Honor Credit Union or 1st Source Bank, tax deductible, and ask to donate to the feed hungry program.
