FACT identifies bicyclist killed in hit and run crash on Ireland Road

SOUTH BEND, In. -- The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team is investigating a hit and run crash that killed a bicyclist Wednesday morning.
Police say they were called at 3 a.m. to the area of Ireland Road and Keria Trail, just west of Erskine Commons about a man lying in the road.
Police say 23-year-old Uriah Scofield was riding his bike westbound on Ireland Road when he was struck from behind by a vehicle also traveling westbound.
The vehicle, believed to be a white Volkswagen, then drove off.
Scofield was pronounced dead at the scene.
