KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- A 53-year-old Claypool man is facing several charges after fleeing from a traffic stop Friday morning.

The Indiana State Police reports a trooper on patrol in Kosciusko County around 7:20 a.m.  observed a Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling 26 miles per hour over the posted speed limit.

The trooper then attempted to make a traffic stop with his siren and emergency lights activated.

Police say the motorcyclist then slowed down before making a U-turn and fleeing at a high speed.

A pursuit ensued before the suspect eventually abandoned his motorcycle on the east side of C.R. 500 West near C.R. 900 South. The suspect then fled into a nearby cornfield.

Police then set a perimeter where a K9 was then able to track the suspect in the cornfield.

The suspect, identified as Franklin Seeley, was taken into custody without incident.

Seeley is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, a Level 6 Felony, Resisting Law Enforcement, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Driving while Suspended-Prior a Class A Misdemeanor.

He was taken to Kosciusko County Jail.
