Fatal crash involving motorcycle in Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. -- Today June 13, at approximately 5:36 p.m., The Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received a call of a crash with injuries, near the intersection of Prairie Street and Middlebury Street in Elkhart.

When police and first responders arrived at the scene, medical aid was rendered to the motorcyclist, identified as 47-year-old Tevorri Hawkins of Goshen, who had sustained serious injury, but shortly after was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the other vehicle in the crash, a Dodge Journey, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.
