Fashion Meets Philanthropy: Goodwill's Little Black Dress Fundraiser supports community
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Local leaders are stepping onto the runway for Goodwill’s “Little Black Dress” fundraiser.
The event will take place Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Four Winds Casino Event Center.
Community leaders will serve as models showcasing all the different outfits that were donated to local Goodwill stores, giving guests a chance to learn more about the inspiring individuals making an impact in the region.
If someone sees something they love on a model, it’ll be available for purchase in the boutique immediately after the show.
The show is sold out with 500 people attending. CEO of Goodwill Industries Michiana Debie Coble advises people to get an early head start for next year.
All proceeds support Goodwill’s education, job training, and placement programs across Northern Indiana.
Coble says this is a unique fundraiser which is all about raising awareness for the many community organizations making a difference.
"We have a lot of we are very blessed with a lot of not for profits in our community and there's a lot of different types of fundraisers. And so, ours brings kind of a unique flavor to it, where you get to see the fashion, and you might be thinking, okay, can I really find that stuff at Goodwill? You would be amazed by the number of items that will be in the boutique that still have the tags on them for whatever reason," Coble said.
