Fall color is peaking across Michiana, with vibrant reds, oranges and yellows showing up throughout the area.
While temperatures dropped Wednesday as highs finished in the 60s, true "fall weather" will likely continue to elude much of Michiana as we head into November.
The Climate Prediction Center has a rare 90-100% chance of above-normal temperatures for the end of October and early November across portions of Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Typically, high temperatures are in the 50s by the end of October.
While this weekend could feature a few 50-degree days, the temperature will spike again by next Tuesday. Record highs are possible as thermometer readings flirt with 80 degrees once again.
While it won't stay abnormally warm forever, it does look like the wait for consistent "sweater weather" will be longer rather than shorter.
