ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.—St. Joseph County FACT and the St. Joseph County Police Department are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle on Thursday morning.
At 5:42 a.m., police responded to the crash on Bittersweet, north of Cleveland Road.
Investigators say a Chevy Impala was traveling southbound on Bittersweet, crossed the double yellow line and struck a motorcycle traveling northbound.
The driver of the motorcycle, 54-year-old Ricardo Yzaguirre, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver was not injured.
Police believe that the fog was a factor in the crash.
"It is extremely foggy, especially in different pockets of the area. People need to drive safer to school or work this morning," said Sheriff Bill Redman at the scene of the crash.
