Extra police presence at Elkhart schools after potential threat posted online
ELKHART, Ind. -- UPDATE: The Elkhart Police Department reports they took a report Sunday just before 8 p.m., regarding a SnapChat threat by an unknown individual making statements about a shooting at Elkhart Central Freshman Academy.
Police say as a safety precaution, the EPD has increased its officer presence at this school and increased its area patrols around ECS schools throughout Monday.
ORGINAL STORY: Elkhart Community Schools have sent out an email to families tonight, sharing that they are aware of a potential threat posted on Snapchat regarding a school shooting.
As of right now, law enforcement has not identified any immediate danger but will have increased police presence at schools.
