Elkhart Schools confirms cyberattack targeted platform used by teachers, students, parents
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Elkhart Community Schools announced they were notified by PowerSchool, a platform used by district students, teachers, and parents, that it was targeted by a cyberattack recently.
The platform is used by several school districts, officials say.
School officials say no student or parent information in the district's possession was compromised.
Officials add that they have numerous measures in place to avoid such incidents.
They say they also provide ongoing training to ensure their staff handles confidential information appropriately.
School officials encourage everyone to be cautious with their passwords and take proactive steps against phishing attempts and other efforts aimed at gathering personal data.
