Elkhart Legacy Auction brings athletics memorabilia to the public

ELKHART, Ind. – The Elkhart Education Foundation has partnered with the Elkhart High School Athletics Department to bring the Elkhart Legacy Auction to the public. The goal is to raise money for new uniforms for the high school.

Memorabilia items of the past from both Elkhart Memorial and Central High School Athletics will be available for bids.

The bidding will take place online from November 9th through the 12th, ending at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

There will also be a benefit show on WHME-TV on the 12th from 7 to 8 p.m. featuring sports legends, coaches, and student-athletes.

During the auction, the new Elkhart High School Lion mascot will be revealed.

“The Elkhart community has been incredibly supportive of our sports programs at both Central and Memorial High School. With the merge, we look for that to only increase and intensify. And just through our fall sports teams, it definitely has,” said Jacquie Rost, CAA, Elkhart Athletic Director.

Some items available for bidding include:

  • Sports Enthusiast Birthday Party
    • An all-sports 2-hour birthday party for 20 kids in the iconic North Side gym. *Subject to date availability
  • Ride the Bench with the Basketball Team
    • Sit on the sidelines with the Elkhart Lions at a regular season game of your choice
  • Elkhart Lion’s Ball Kid & First Pitch Package
    • Stand with the coach during his pre-game pep talk to the team, throw out the first ball, and be the ball boy/girl.
  • Center Stage Package
    • Choose any regular season home sporting event to sing the national anthem live!
  • Football Enthusiast Package
    • Enjoy a private press box, field and fieldhouse tour to get a behind-the-scenes look at historic Rice Field.
  • Join the Cheer Squad Experience
    • Choose any regular season home game for this experience and go home with a signed poster of the cheer team, pom poms, an EHS Cheer t-shirt and sparkly hair bow.
  • Couch Potato Package
    • You and three friends will sit on a couch on the sidelines of any home football or basketball game of your choice

*all items may be redeemed after the COVID-19 crisis if current restrictions would make it impossible or unsafe to experience these auction items.
