ELKHART, Ind -- The beloved Elkhart Jazz Festival is back in action in after goin on a hiatus in 2020.
People from all walks of life come to Elkhart during this time of the year for what they consider to be one of the biggest festivals, nationwide.
"This festival is very eclectic. It has so many different styles of jazz. There’s jazz rock, there’s latin jazz, there is just so many different styles of jazz that are going to be performed here that it’s something for everyone." said performer Jim Catalano
Typically the festival has over 7 or 8 stages, allowing performers to play three to five performances, but with COVID restrictions differentiating by state, there will be less stages and performers this year.
"So, for a typical year we may be picking up 20 or more artist from the airport. This year as a comparison we’ve got 6 or 7 that are coming in." said Jazz Festival Co-chair Ben Decker.
Regardless of the changes, the community is out and about, enjoying every bit of fun they missed in 2020.
"We’re just thrilled to have a gig and to be back playing live music and of course our music of choice which is jazz." said Jim
The Jazz Festival starts Thursday June 17th and ends Sunday June 20th.
