Elkhart County Sheriff's Office seeks help identifying hit-and-run driver

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports investigators are seeking help identifying a hit-and-run suspect following a crash that occurred on Feb. 7 around 6:40 p.m. near S.R. 19 and Quail Ridge Drive.

Authorities say the incident involved a bicyclist being struck by an unidentified driver possibly in an SUV.

After hitting the victim, knocking him unconscious, the suspect left.

Investigators are now asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect vehicle and driver.

The vehicle is described as potentially being a 2010-2024 Toyota 4Runner with passenger side damage and likely a broken mirror.

Anyone with information about this crash, the vehicle involved, or the driver, is asked to contact the ECSO at 574-533-4151.
