Elkhart County Parks offering free lantern-lit evening hike

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Enjoy a sunset hike along an illuminated trail Dec. 20 courtesy of Elkhart County Parks.
The event will occur on Dec 20, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Feedlot Shelter in Bonneyville Mill Park located at 53373 C.R. 131.
Participants are invited to attend the illuminated sunset to twilight trek led by park staff.
Guided along a trail lit by lanterns, event-goers will have a chance to see the park's nighttime critters.
Organizers say the length of the hike is less than one mile on uneven terrain.
Interpretive Naturalist Courtney Franke said, "The sounds and sights are slightly dfferent as day gives way to night. This hike will shed some light on sunset at Bonneyville Mill."
