ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Parks will be offering themed bird walks on the first Wednesday of every month starting at 8 a.m. The first themed bird walk will be held on Wednesday, April 2, at Bonneyville Mill County Park.

The free bird walk on Wednesday, April 2 will explore the art of mindfulness in nature to tie into Stress Awareness Month. The group walk will include exploratory exercises on ways to slow down and practice deep listening.

“Life’s messy in a lot of different ways and it’s easy to kind of get stuck in your own head,” said Annie Aguirre, program coordinator. “That’s why I love birding. It’s a chance to zoom out from whatever’s going on and causing you stress by shifting your focus to nature," said Aguirre.
