Elkhart Community Schools staff member tests positive for COVID-19

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind.— An Elkhart Community Schools staff member has tested positive for COVID-19, the school district said Friday.

The school district was informed Friday that a staff member who works in the J.C. Rice Educational Service Center had tested positive for coronavirus. 

Other staff members who work in the educational service center have been notified, the district said.

Based on the staff member’s duties and role, the school district said there is no risk to students or staff in the school buildings as the affected staff member does not have contact with students.

As of Friday afternoon, the school district said it has not received any other reports of other staff members experiencing illnesses with symptoms related to coronavirus.
