ELKHART, Ind. -- A new Elkhart High School athletic director will be in place for the 2026-27 school year.

The district announced the selection of Josh Fletcher for the role. ECS officials say he has nearly 3 decades of experience in teaching and coaching at both the high school and collegiate level. He comes to EHS from Angola High School, where he achieved conference and sectional honors as the Head Cross Country and Track & Field coach.

Prior to Angola, Fletcher spent six years as a leader in the Trine University track & field program. Earlier in his career, he led Northridge High School to a 2004 state title, and coached multiple state champions at Penn High School. In a statement, Fletcher said the following:

I am truly honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the next Athletic Director at Elkhart High School. Elkhart has a strong tradition of excellence, and I’m excited to work alongside our dedicated coaches, student-athletes, staff, and community to build on that legacy. I look forward to getting started and becoming an active part of the Elkhart community.

Fletcher formally assumes his role on July 1.
