Elkhart Community Schools name interim superintendent
ELKHART, Ind. - The Elkhart Community Schools Board of trustees have named an interim superintendent.
Mark Mow was selected at a board meeting Tuesday night through a unanimous vote.
Mow was Elkhart school superintendent from 2002 until he retired in 2012. Before that, he had taught and worked at several schools from 1970 to 2002.
“I am honored to return to the school corporation,” said Mow. “I’m particularly looking forward to joining what I consider to be an outstanding staff as we keep our promise to Elkhart kids and families and the community. As far as the strategic plan goes, I can tell you I am also planning to work with you to move that plan forward in a very thoughtful and financially responsible way.”
Mow will start effective July 1st. Current Superintendent Robert Haworth will leave on June 30.
